Week 9: In Their Eyes | Tamar Lewis

You said summer felt like time stood still
And asked if I would help you to keep memories real
For a moment I thought it over
But I as well tend to forget

Seeing those pictures again that you sent
Those trees and where they stood I don't remember
The days and how they felt are like a dream
They fade when the fall sets in

When the fall sets in
When the fall sets in
When the fall sets in

Last year in the winter I came to know
The miracle of ongoing life
Held my son so close to my chest
My hands so tight round his back

As we sat there all alne in his room
At night when no one else was awake
Memories of childhood just came to me
As I looked at him

As I looked at him
As I looked at him
As I looked at him

Recalling
Days you and I spent in our rooms
Recordig our songs on cassette
Eating colourful chocolate
Carelessly making our memories

Making our memories
Making our memories
Making our memories

So when those precious memories start to fade
And I cannot help you to keep them real
In the eyes of our children we'll find them
As they grow
